The University of Houston-Victoria Lady Jags ended their season with a doubleheader against Mary Hardin Baylor. It ended with the Lady Jags winning both games. The scores were 5-1 and 2-0 in the sweep.

The softball team ends the regular season with a record of 30-16. Now all the ladies can do is sit back, wait, and see if they make it into the NAIA Regional tournament.

The ladies are ranked 19th in the NAIA national rankings. In NAIA region 6 they are tied for 4th.

"The girls are really excited right now," Head Coach Kerri Lambeth said.

Brittany Haas said, "There is nothing more we can do except wait. The teams that make the tournament will be announced on Monday.

Lambeth said, " We have to keep practicing and prepare for the tournament, even though its still in the air."

The UHV baseball team has a record of 29-2. Yet it has no national ranking. The team likely has no shot at reaching the NAIA region 6 tournament.

"Their chances are slim to none." Advocate sports reporter Mike Foreman said.

There schedule is the thing that is coming back to haunt them. The majority of the teams they played were not ranked.

The boys ended their regular season this weekend. All they can do after that is hope for a miracle to happen and place them into the regional tournament.

The inaugural season for UHV athletics should be considered a success. Between the two teams the record is 59-18. The girls have received regional and national rankings. The boys have only lost two games. But it is no longer a game of skill and precision. It is a waiting game.
